Book 1:

The Yom Kippur Big Book, Better Than Before brings to life the story behind the holiest day on the Jewish calendar.

Beautiful, carefully designed illustrations elucidate otherwise complex subjects, allowing readers to better grasp the forgiveness of Yom Kippur in a visual way.

The Yom Kippur story goes back in time to the birth of the Jewish Nation and the Giving of the Torah. Trouble began when the new nation thought their leader Moshe was gone. They were quickly convinced that worshiping a golden calf would keep them safe in the desert. They forgot what they had just heard at Mount Sinai: not to worship anything besides G-d. Moshe’s shocking action upon his return helped them realize their terrible mistake. But was it already too late to save the Jewish People? This captivating book retells how Moshe and the Jewish Nation were able to turn things around. Their sincere efforts to return to G-d gave us the holiday of Yom Kippur forever, and the power to always make our connection to the One Above even better than before!

Book 2:

The Yom Kippur Big Book: How To Celebrate sheds light on the customs of the holiest day on the Jewish calendar.

A turning point in history, Yom Kippur commemorates the day the Jewish people were forgiven for their grave mistake: worshiping a golden calf just days after receiving the Torah on Mount Sinai. Now year after year, Yom Kippur is still the day we are forgiven for our wrongdoings, no matter how big or small.

Book Two, How to Celebrate, teaches about the laws and customs of the day of forgiveness. Thoughtful illustrations clarify details of how to prepare for and observe this momentous day.

Discover the meaning behind our traditions and enhance the way you celebrate with the Yom Kippur Big Book set.

FAQ:

Why softcover?

The book is 52 pages which exceeds previous big books. A hard cover book with these many pages is very heavy and cumbersome to use as well as a strain on the binding. Two hardcover books would also make the price significantly higher. The laminated pages are durable and come in a convenient hard, sturdy slipcase that perfect for storage and protection when not in use. With the proper care the book should stay true to form.

Why two books?

Another reason the books are separated in the big book version may be too long to read all in one sitting. Having two separate books is more exciting and useful as it can be used in two different classes at the same time.

How should I care for my book?

As with all big books, hardcover or softcover, it is recommended to handle with care and preferable not to allow children handle them. All big books are more delicate than regular size books because of its size. Your little friends will ask for the big book. If you are particular about keeping in its original condition, please refrain from having children using it on their own. Regular size books are a great companion to the big book to give children the opportunity to be hands-on and read the smaller version of the big book they love, again and again.

What age is this book for?

The large size and realistic style illustrations captivates all ages. People have used the book for toddlers, Hebrew School all ages, teens, and seniors. Adults love it too. The text is geared for ages 3+.

t's a great gift idea for kids or grandparents to share with their grandchildren.
