Sefer Birurei Halachos, 2 Volume Set

This two-volume set was compiled by Rabbi Avraham Eliyah Plotkin (1888-1948), who served as the rabbi in a number of Russian locations.

Birurei Halachot:
Thsi volume includes discussions on numerous Talmudic topics and Jewish law. Includes a copy of the author's rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Yosef Rozin, the famous Rogatchover Gaon, and testimonials by Rabbi Yechezkel Abramsky, Rabbi Sholom Yosef Zevin, and Rabbi Moshe DovBer Rovkin. Also includes the author's Halachic responsa and a treatise describing his construction of a Mikveh.

Peninei Avraham Eliyahu:
This volume includes fascinating discourses and aphorisms on the Torah, Psalms, the Agaadot, Tractate Avot, the Midrash, Shabbat and the Festivals; Concepts in Judaism, Chasidus, Mikveh and Family Purity, Brit Milah, and Jewish Education. Includes at the end, "Meah Imrot" - an interesting collection of 100 short sayings on a range of topics, and a treatise discussing, in Yiddish, the three Mitzvot unique for women.
