Fun Lubavitcher Rebbens Hoif - פון ליובאוויטשער רבי'נס הויף

Quick Overview

Fun Lubavitcher Rebben’s Hoif
From the Court of the Lubavitcher Rebbe
A supplemental volume to:
Sefer Hazichronos: Lubavitcher Rebben’s Zichronos (2 Volumes)

Written in a lively style, Fun Lubavitcher Rebben’s Hoif presents a history of 160 years of Chabad-Lubavitch, spanning six generations of Chabad Rebbes, from the founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi through the early years of the sixth Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn.

The material, written by the editor of the Yiddish Morgen Journal, David Leib Meckler (under the pen-name Ben Shlomo), originally appeared there as a series of articles, beginning in November 1929 through July 1930.

The articles were based on interviews the editor conducted with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak, and with his son-in-law, Rabbi Shmarya Gurary.

A fascinating addendum to the book is a reprint of the story of the arrest and liberation of Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak by the Soviet government. It first appeared in Riga, Latvia, as Di Yesurim Fun Lubavitchen Rebben in Soviet Russland.

A comprehensive index of names and places rounds out this valuable historical and didactic volume.
